Abstract :In the field of interior architecture, concepts such as fashion, trend, decoration, variability, transformability and design play an important role in interior design. Understanding the impact of these concepts on user preferences is important to ensure that interiors are designed in an aesthetically and functionally appropriate way. In this research, it is aimed to examine the concepts such as fashion, trend, decoration, variability, transformability and design, which are effective in the construction of interior spaces, from the perspective of interior architecture and to reveal the preferences of users. Within the scope of the research, a questionnaire was applied to 471 participants who own a house in Istanbul. Participants were asked to fill out a questionnaire form containing questions on fashion, trends, decoration and furniture preferences. The results of the survey were evaluated using frequency, percentage and chisquare tests with SPSS 26.00. According to the findings of the research, the majority of the participants stated that the decoration in the spaces is important. Furniture was the element that attracted the attention of the users the most. It was determined that the decoration style is also moved in case of moving to a new house. Analysis of demographic factors showed that marital status, education level, number of children and monthly income affect interior preferences. The findings of the study show that concepts such as fashion, trend, decoration, variability, transformability and design play an important role in interior design. By taking these factors into account, interior architects can shape their designs by offering solutions suitable for the needs and tastes of users.
