Abstract :Terrorism is a concept that is always on the agenda at the international level and has a highly complex and variable structure. The phenomenon of terrorism, which has increased its influence worldwide in recent years, especially since the early 2000s, has gained an international dimension after the September 11 attacks in America. This terrorist attack shows that we have entered a new century and a new process of change in which countries will no longer be able to maintain peace and tranquility at the regional level as before. The purpose of this study; The developments that led to new era, the terrorist elements based on religious discourse, their structures, ideologies, and their social, political and economic effects, the September 11 Attacks in America, the 2016 Brussels and 2018 Atatürk Airport attacks and their effects on the aviation industry, as a result of these in Turkey and to examine the changes taking place in Europe. In this context, the study is expected to contribute to the literature and reveal the negative effects of radical terrorism on civil aviation security.
