Abstract :The way the press conveys news in natural disaster events is very important. Especially if the subject is children, the scope of the news has a special importance. Children, who are generally represented with problems in the press, are also represented around similar discourses in disasters such as earthquakes. The news in which children\'s photographs are presented through patterns is far from informative. In this study, how children were represented in the news in the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake was examined. The aim of the study is to question whether unethical publishing is done in the images. The study is important because it shows how the newspapers convey the images of children in a disaster. In the study, ntv.com.tr, cnnturk.com.tr, ahaber.com.tr were selected as samples. The research is limited to the examination of the photographs dated 617 February 2023. The photographs were examined within the framework of the qualitative method and in the context of the ethical principles of journalism. As a result, it has been determined that the newspapers have an unethical publishing. Rather than accurate and factbased information, the theme of emotion is emphasized in the visuals. It has been determined that representations such as \'miracle, hope, innocence\' are emphasized in the photographs of the children.
