Investigation of High School Students' Attitudes Towards Coaching Profession According to Some Demographic Characteristics

Abstract :This research examines the relationship between the attitudes of high school students in Ankara province towards the coaching profession and some demographic characteristics and the relationship between attitudes towards the coaching profession and its sub-dimensions. The research was conducted with 305 high school students in 2024 and 2025. In the study, which was carried out with the relational survey method, data were collected with the \\\'\\\'Attitude Scale of High School Students Towards the Coaching Profession\\\'\\\' developed by Turğut, Sural and Kan (2018) and the \\\'\\\'Demographic Information Form\\\'\\\' prepared by the researcher. Statistical procedures were carried out with the SPSS 27.0 analysis program. In evaluating the research data, frequency, percentage distributions, Independent Samples T Test for paired groups, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for multiple groups and Pearson Correlation analysis to determine the relationship were used as statistical methods. The study found a significant difference between the participants\\\' attitudes towards the coaching profession and the demographic variables of gender, age, years of sport and being a licensed athlete. In contrast, no significant difference was found between the class level and the team variables. At the same time, a positive and significant relationship was found between high school students\\\' attitudes towards the coaching profession and its sub-dimensions.
