Abstract :In the past, all of the new spinning technologies, such as OE-rotor spinning, DREF spinning, Air-jet spinning etc., have been aimed to increase the production per spindle and have been successful on this.  However, as the production increases this does not mean that the yarn quality parameters get better. Also, until today, none of any new spinning methods has given a quality as ring spun yarn has. The clearest case is the capability of production of finest yarns by the ring spinning system. In contrary, structure of the ring-spun yarns is not ideal. The yarns consist of known fibre amount, do have very little or none contribution influence on tenacity and negative effect on the irregularity and hairiness of the yarns.  Compact yarns were developed for the ring spinning frame to be able to alter most of these dissenting.   In this study, both conventional ring-spun yarns and compact insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(COM 4); yarns were produced from the same roving and later compared with their linear densities, twist, tenacity-elongation and hairiness. The results revealed that compact insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(COM 4); ring yarns have lower values in Uster H, yet have shown higher yarn twist, breaking strength and elongation.
Keywords : compact yarn, ring spun yarn, hairiness, pilling, cotton, tenacity
