Abstract :Lifelong learning is one of the most frequently used learning approaches and is based on all of an individual’s life processes from birth to death. This research is a literature review which aims to examine the historical development process, application areas, place in educational programmes, competencies and the importance in terms of human life of the lifelong learning approach. In order to answer these general questions, scientific studies retrieved from different databases and the results of these scientific studies were examined in detail.
