Determination of Acceptance of Gender, Aggression and Inter-Couple Violence and the Relationship Between Midwifery and HSPES Students

Abstract :We aimed to determine the status of accepting gender, aggression and violence between couples and the relationship between midwifery and physical education and sports school students. The sample of the descriptive and cross-sectional insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(01.11.2017-30.12.2017); study consisted of midwifery insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=246);, coaching insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=139); and physical education teacher insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=56); students insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=441);. Personal information form, Gender Perception Scale, Gender Roles Attitude Scale, Aggression Scale, and Couple Violence Acceptance Scale were used to collect data. Data was evaluated by using number, percentage, mean, t-test, ANOVA and correlation analysis on the computer. 29.3% of the students participating in the study were male and 70.7% were female. It was determined that female student’s gender perceptions are lower than male student\`s. Male students were found to have a higher mean of violence, and the aggression level was normal for both. It was determined that the rate of accepting violence between couples was lower in women than in men insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.05);. The mean acceptance of violence by women against men of people who were subjected to violence by their families was found to be statistically significant insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.005);. A significant difference was found in the aggression and anger sub-dimensions of the students who took courses on violence at the university. It was determined that the relationship between the sub-dimensions of the Gender Attitude Scale and the sub-dimensions of the Aggression Scale was significant insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.05);. As a result of the study, it can be said that male students accept violence more and the effects of violence lessons in education are positive, albeit small.Keywords : Aggression, Gender, Violence, Midwifery
