Abstract :This study was conducted to determine the knowledge, attitudes and practices of nurses working in intensive care units regarding the use of physical restraints. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted between May and November 2019 with 202 nurses working in intensive care units and volunteering to participate in the research. Data were collected using a questionnaire form and the "Levels of Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Staff Regarding Physical Restraints Questionnaire”. A statistically significant difference was found between mean knowledge, attitude, and practice score and intensive care units, between mean practice score and the status of receiving information about physical restraints and the number of patients cared for during the day, between mean attitude and practice score and the number of patients cared for at night, between mean knowledge, attitude and practice score and intensive care level (p<0.05). It is recommended to raise awareness about nurses\' knowledge of their legal rights regarding physical restraint use and encourage further studies to determine the knowledge, attitude, and practices of nurses regarding the relevant topic.
