Abstract :In the next few pages, we intend to initiate a conversation on the centennial of the publication of Du Bois’ The Souls of Black Folk, published in 1903. We will look at the main ideas raised in the book and try to determine to what extent some of the issues raised then are still relevant today. Even if The Souls of Black Folk spoke to us then and will speak to us today, will it, perhaps, be able to speak to us tomorrow?
