Abstract :The Coruh River Valley in Artvin is one of the important migration ways for birds in Turkey. In this study, the avifauna of Artvin was investigated. Purposes of this study were to gather information about bird species, help to conserve their populations and provide data regarding species diversity. From the observations conducted between February 2004 and August 2007, 216 bird species belonging to 47 families and 17 orders were recorded. Out of these 216 species, it was determined that while 87 of them were residents, others were migrants. Keywords : Çoruh Nehri Vadisi, Kuş çeşitliliği, Artvin
