Abstract :Bu çalışmada, Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde Mehmet İzzet tarafından yazılan ve  ilk lise sosyoloji ders kitaplarından birisi olan ‘’İçtimaiyat’’ adlı eserde ‘’Türkçü’’ yaklaşımlar ele alınmıştır. Kitapta özellikle; ekonomi, aile, kadın, din ve hukuk alanlarında Türkçü yaklaşımlar ön plana çıktığı için, burada da bu başlıklar altında Türkçü yaklaşımlar incelenmiştir. Türkiye’de ortaöğretimde sosyoloji öğretimi Ziya Gökalp’in 1911 yılında Selanik İttihat ve Terakki İdadisinde İçtimaiyat dersleri okutması ile başlamıştır. Cumhuriyetin kuruluşundan sonraki sürece kadar düzenli olmayan şekillerde ortaöğretim kurumlarında sosyolojinin Türkiye’ye girişi, kabul görüşü, sosyoloji teori ve akımlarının akademik ve entelektüel çevrelerde yer bulmaya başlaması ile 1924 yılında ders, lise ders müfredat genel çizelgesinde yer almıştır. 1924 yılı programı doğrultusunda yazılan kitapta Mehmet İzzet’in Türkçü, toplumcu yaklaşımı bütün konu başlıklarında açık olarak görülmektedir. Bu durum yeni kurulan cumhuriyetin kuruluş ilkeleri ve bu dönemde uygulanan milli eğitim politikası ile örtüşmektedir. Mehmet İzzet kitap içeriğinde her konu başlığında Osmanlı ve Cumhuriyet karşılaştırmalarını da yapmıştır. Anahtar Sözcükler: Sosyoloji Öğretimi, Türkçülük, Mehmet İzzet Abstract:  In the current study, “Turkist” approaches in work of “İctimaiyat”, written by Mehmet İzzet and one of the first high school textbooks of sociology in the Republican period, were investigated. As Turkist approaches in the fields of economy, family, woman, religion and law come to the forefront, particularly Turkish approaches were investigated under these headings in the book. Sociology teaching in secondary education in Turkey started with Ziya Gökalp teaching İctimaiyat (sociology) courses in Saloniki İttihat ve Terakki High School in 1911. The course took place in general schedule of high school curriculum up till the process after the establishment of the Republic with the entrance of sociology secondary education institutions in irregular ways, its acceptance, having sociological terms and movements finding their places in academic and intellectual circles in 1924. In the book written in line with the program of 1924, Turkist and sociologist approach of Mehmet İzzet could be seen clearly in all headings of topics. This case corresponds with the establishment principle of the republic and the national education politics applied in this period. In every topic of the book content, Mehmet İzzet made the comparison of the Ottoman and Republic. Keywords: Sociology Teaching, Turkism, Mehmet İzzet
