Abstract :ÖZET Çapraz irsiyete bağlı çapraşık dişliliğin, insanlar üzerinde tetkiki sadece bir müellif tarafından ve takriben 35 sene önce yapılmıştır. Bu araştırma bizde gerek kullanılan metod ve gerekse varılan netice- bakımından yeniden üzerinde   durulmasının isabetli olacağı kanısını uyandırdı. Çapraz irsiyetin çapraşık dişlilik dismorfozuria sebep olduğu iddiası takriben yüz seneden beri meslekî yayınlarda yer almaktadır. Tetkik edebildiğimiz yayınları aşağıdaki üç ayrı bölümde verdik: 1. Hipotetik iddialar:, 2. Hayvan üzerinde yapılan deneyler, 3. İnsanlar üzerindeki gözlemler. Şimdiye kadar yayınlanmış deney `ve  gözlemlerin toplu olarak tetkiki, bu konuda yapacağımız araştırmada, Önceki araş tırmalar dak i mahzurların tesbiti ve bunlardan mümkün mertebe kaçınılması imkanlarını vermiştir. Araştırmamız, çapraşıklık ihtiva eden    34 çocuk `İle bunların ana-babala-rı üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ölçmeler 96 adet standart` lateral` `îelckraniog-rafi ve yine 96 alçı model üzerinden yapılmıştır.Çapraşıklık gösteren ço< cuklar, dişlerin mesio-distai çapları-, dişlerin kavis üzerinde işgal ettikleri saha uzunluğu, facial pattern ve`kafa kaideyi ı çizgisi bakımından ebeveynleri ile mukayese-edilmişlerdir   Vak`alar elyo-patbjenetik yönden tartışılmış, ber vak`ada çevrenin ve çapraz irsiyetin rolleri tesbit edilîneğe çalışılmıştır. Vak`alann tetkikinden elde edilen sonuçlara nazaran tabiatta çapraz irsiyet hadisesi vuku bulmakta, fakat bu halin iddia edildiği gibi daima çapraşık dişlilik dismerfozuna sebeb olmadığı gerçeği ortaya çıkmıştır. SUMMARY 35 years ago the importance of the cross-heredity in the aetiology of the crowding had investigated, on the human beings by a French autor. It is my opinion, this investigation, unforlunetely, was not satisfactory and its method and results must be reviwed in the light of advenceed knowledges. Since one hundered years, it is claimed, that cross-heredity was one of the causing factor for the crowding. A review of littérature has shown that the studies of these previous investigators may be grouped into 3 categories: 1. Purely hypothetic statements, 2. Experiments on animals, 3. Studies on human beings, A carefull exemination of these early investigations made possible to me to indicate the inconveniences of the methods and to develop a more accurate one, by eliminating these errors. The present study is based on mesurements made on standardized lateral roentgenograms and study models of the 36 children with crowding and their parents. All children were compared with their own mothers and fathers regarding of their summ of the mesiodistai tooth width, arch-Space skeletal facial pattern as described by Brodie, and the cranial base line as described by De Coster. After the data collected by these comparisons, all cases were discussed etio-patogeneticaly and an attemp were made to determine the relative role of the environtmental and hereditary factors. Results showed that the cross-heredity may exist in the nature, but this docs not lead necessarily to a status of the crowding of the teeth in all cases.
