Abstract :Anahtar Sözcük : Periodontal Ligament Enjeksiyonu. Bu makalede, son yıllarda kulanımı önerilen ve üzerinde birçok çalışmalar yapılan `Periodontal Ligament Enjeksiyonu` hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Kullanılmaya başlandığı zamandan günümüze gelene dek ilgili araştırmalar taranmış ve bu araştırmaların sonuçları detaylı olarak sunulmuştur. `Periodontal Ligament Enjcksiyonu`nun etki mekanizması, çeşitli araştırmacıların görüşleri karşılaştılarak anlatılmıştır. Yine bu enjeksiyon tekniğinin uygulanışı sırasında ortaya çıkan ağrı, enjeksiyonun tatbikinden sonra oluşan rahatsızlıklar üzerinde çeşitli araştırmacıların görüşleri sunulmuş ve birbirleriyle karşılaştırılmışür. `Periodontal Ligament Enjeksiyonu `nun alt ve üst çene dişlerinde, hangi diş grubunda daha etkili olduğu ve bunun nedenleri yine araştırmacıların verilerine dayanılarak belirtilmiştir. Gündemde olan. `Perodontal Ligament Enjeksiyonu `nun esas veya yardımcı anestezi olarak kullanımı tartışılmış; bu konudaki görüşler karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak `Periodontal Ligament Enjeksiyonu` nun dişhekimliğinde ancak çok kısa süreli ve derin anestezi istemeyen işlemlerde esas anestezi olarak kullanılması, bunun dışında infiltratif veya blok anestezisinin tercih edilmesi önerilmiştir. In this article, information has been given about `Periodontal Ligament Injection` which is recommended recently and on which a lot of researches are being undertaken. The researches concerining the technique since the beginnig of its employment until today have been scanned and the results of these researches have been provided in detail. The mechanism of the Periodontal Ligament Injection has been explained by making comparison between the various opinions of different researchers. Various opinons of different researchers about the pain which occurs during the application of the injection and the pofoundness of the anesthesia have been provided and compared with each other. The group of maxillary and mandibular teeth on which the periodontal ligament injection is more effective and the reason for this has also been pointed out with the help of data provided by various researchers. Whether the periodontal ligament injection should be employed as an essential anesthesia or it should be used supplementarily has been discussed and the opinions about this subject have been compared. Finally, it has been recommended that the periodontal ligament injection should be utilized-Jbr short time intervals and in those processes which don`t require profound anesthesia. In the other cases ihfiltrative and block anesthesia must be preferred.
