Abstract :THE EXAMINATION OF COLLAGEN FIBERS IN PERIODONTAL MEMBRANE OF THE TEETH FROM THE ADULT PERIODONTITIS PATIENTS WITH LIGHT AND ELECTRON MICROSCOPE insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); Anahtar Sözcükler : Erişkin periodontitis, periodontal membran, kollagen iplik. Sağlam dişler ve erişkin periodontitisli dişlerin periodontal membranındaki kollagen iplikler IM ve EM ile incelendi. Toplam 12 diş çekilerek kök üzerindeki periodontal membran bistürü ile soyularak rutin işlemlere tabi tutuldu. IM ile periodontitisli örneklerde kollagen demetlerde gevşeme ve aralanma dikkati çekti. EM`da kollagen ipliklerin hem sağlam hem de periodontitisli örneklerde çaplarının ortalama 360° A olduğu bulundu. Kollagenlerin çap ve görünümlerinin değişmediği ama miktarında azalma olduğu sonucuna varıldı. Key Words ; Adult periodontitis, periodontal membrane, collagen fiber. The collagen fibers, in the periodontal membrane of the teeth from healthy and adult peridodontitis patients were exemined with LM and EM. Totally 12 teeth were extracted and after the periodontal membrane on the root surface was taken by using a scalpel, the routine procedure were performed. In the LM, an increase the interfibriler space and a losened apperance in the collagen fibers were observed in periodontitis patients. In EM the diameter of the collagen fibers both in normal and in periodontitis samples, was found approximately 360`A. As a result, it is observed that, while the diameter and the apperance of the collagen fibers remained same, a decrease in the number of collagen fibers was observed.
