Abstract :Anahtar sözcükler : Sağlık eğitimi, `2000 yılında herkes İçin sağlık`, Bakteri Plağı. Gerek tek tek bireylerin, gerekse bir toplumun ağız ve diş sağlığı kapasitesini artırmaya yönelik birinci aşamadaki koruyucu uygulamaların başında sağlık eğitimi gelmektedir. Ağız ve diş sağlık eğitimi, ağız içindeki sert ve yumuşak dokuların mümkün olduğu kadar büyük bir kısmının ömür boyu sağlıklı kalabileceği gerçeğinden hareketle insanlarda bu amaca götürecek davranış ve alışkanlıkların iletilmesi, yerleştirilmesi ve koruyucu yöntemlerin uygulanmasının sağlanması demektir. Çeşitli eğitim yöntemlerinin kullanıldığı ağız ve diş sağlığı eğitimi, çocuklara yönelik olduğunda mutlaka görsel malzemeye ağırlık vermektedir. Key words; Health education. Dental health education is one of the valuable preventive measures to enhance dental oral health capacity of both individuals and the community on the basis of primary prevention. Dental health education claims that the teeth and their surrounding soft tissues might be kept i n their healthy stages mostly as they appear as in mouth as long as possible and so does provide poeople with necessary knowledge mnd preventive procedures to create habits and behaviours to lead such purpose. Many of the educative methods are used in dental health education however when it is addressed to primary school  children it would be better depend on visual material.
