Abstract :ÖZET Bu çalışmanın amacı tek taraflı dudak-damak yarığı olan bireylerde Sella Turcica morfolojisini incelemektir. Tek taraflı dudak-damak yarığı deformitesine sahip, ortalama yaşları 10.75 yıl insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SD: 2.58 yıl); olan toplam 20 çocuk insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(7 kız, 13 erkek); anomali grubunu, bu grupla yaş insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(X: 10.66 yıl, SD: 2.58 yıl); ve cinsiyete göre eşleştirilen 20 birey ise kontrol grubunu oluşturmuştur. Hastaların hiçbiri daha önce ortodontik tedavi görmemiştir. Sella Turcica`nın morfolojisini incelemek amacıyla hastalardan alınan lateral sefalometrik radyografiler üzerinde uzunluk, derinlik, uzunluk/derinlik oranı ve buna ek olarak planimetre yardımıyla alan ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak Student t testi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Ölçümlerin değerlendirilmesinde her iki grup arasında istatistiksel yönden anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar yarık deformiteli ve normal çocuklar arasında Sella Turcica morfolojisi ile ilgili olarak anlamlı bir fark olmadığını gösterirken, yarık deformitesinin söz konusu bu morfoloji üzerinde etkisi olmadığını düşündürmektedir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Sella Turcica, dudak-damak yarığı. ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the morphology of the Sella Turcica in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate. The material was consisted 20 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(7 girls, 13 boys); unilateral cleft lip and palate insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(UCLP); children with a mean age 10.75years    insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SD: 2.58 years); and this group was matched with the non cleft children for age insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Mean: 10.66 years; SD: 2.58 years); and sex, selected as a control group. No patient had received orthodontic treatment. The length, depth and length/depth ratio in addition on to the measurement of the area with the aid of planimeter obtained from the tracings of the lateral cephalometric radiographs were used to evaluate the Sella Turcica`s morphology. The resulting data were evaluated statistically with Student-t Test. No significant differences were found in measurements between the two groups. The results of this study showed that there was not any difference between the cleft and non-cleft children in the morphology of the Sella Turcica; indicating that there was no influence of the cleft deformity on this morphology.
