Abstract :ÖZET Kanser tanısı, hastalar için stres verici bir olaydır. Kanser hastalarının tedavisinde bireylerin yaşadıkları duygusal ve sosyal sorunların aşılabilmesi için psikolojik destek sağlanması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bireylere tanı konulduğunda, tedavi sürecinde ve gereksinimlerinin karşılanmasında tedavi ekibi içinde yer alan hemşireler, hastaların tedaviye uyumlarının arttırılmasında, hasta ve ailesine yardım sürecinde psikososyal yaklaşımları kullanmalıdırlar. Anahtar kelimeler: Kanser hastaları, psikososyal yaklaşım, hemşirelik, psikoonkoloji ABSTRACT Psychosocial Approach to Cancer Patients Cancer diagnosis is a stress cause for the patients. Psychologic support is essential for the cancer patients while dealing with the social and emotional problems they live during their treatment. When the diagnosis is made, nurse of the treatment team should use the psychosocial approaches in helping patient and his/her family to make them cooperate with the treatment.
