Abstract :Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde gerçekleştirilen toplumsal inkılaplarla ilgili olarak taşrada ilginç olaylar ve tartışmalar yaşanmıştır. Bu olaylardan birisi, 1927 yılı başlarında Kastamonu’da meydana gelen “Balo hadisesi”dir. Bu olaydan sonra Kastamonu valisinin görev yeri değiştirilmiştir. Niğde vilayetinde ise tesettür konusunda başlayan tartışmalar mahkemeye taşınmıştır. Bu makalede, toplumsal inkılapların taşraya yansıması iki vilayet ölçeğinde ele alınmıştır.
