Abstract :The invention of paper is an important stage in the journey of knowledge. Paper, which has an important place in cultural life, has also been reflected in classical Turkish poetry in various aspects. Poets gave great importance to paper, which made their poems eternal, and they mentioned this important material in their poems in various ways. Poets have given great importance to paper which ensures the immortality of their poems and have mentioned this important material in their poems in various ways. In this study, after explaining the history of paper, its reflections in classical poetry are explained with some striking examples. In classical poetry, which traditionally developed along the in love-beloved line, paper is seen to come to the forefront as a necessary material for poetry. In the couplets mentioning paper, sometimes the paper-text relationship is emphasized, as seen in the example of al kâğıt. Sometimes, as seen in the examples of varaku’t-tayr, Semerkandî and şekerrenk, the type of paper, the place where it was produced and its color are indicated. It is also seen that in the poem, communication with paper and the permanentization of science and poetry with paper are mentioned. The reflection of paper into poetry through different scenes from life also shows the inseparable bond of poetry with life. Poets gave great importance to paper, which is of vital importance for poetry, and showed this value in their poems. Thus, various details about the social life of the period are reflected in the world of poetry.
