Abstract :With the increase in industrialization with the developing technology, the risk factors that negatively affect the employees in the working environment are also increasing. Occupational accidents and occupational diseases occur due to these risk factors. Occupational accidents and occupational diseases can be prevented by applying effective occupational health and safety rules. It is important that all data related to work accidents and occupational diseases are recorded regularly and that these data are analyzed and necessary precautions are taken. In particular, data on the number of work accidents, death rates after work accidents, occupational diseases and death rates due to occupational diseases are important. These data are an indication of the countries being healthier and happier, as well as the economic and social development of the countries. According to these data, protective and preventive activities for employees are important. In this study, evaluations were made about preventive and remedial activities by comparing statistical data on work accidents and occupational diseases in our country and in the world
