Abstract :AECO industry is one of the leading sectors that contributes greatly to the economic growth of countries. Industry 4.0 has paved the way for digital transformation in this labour-intensive sector. With digitalised operations, certainty in project management, process standardisation, improvement in workflow, risk minimisation, proactive actions and cost saving are made possible. In this study, effects and contributions of digitalisation in the real-world applications and the main difficulties encountered in transformation process were determined, as well as, the advantages and risk factors related to Construction 4.0 processes were presented to practitioners and scientific researchers. A large number of conflicting problem dimensions with different impact levels were evaluated with DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evoluation Laboratory). The results were elucidated with graphical illustrations and scrutinized in details by delineating research outcomes, as well as, Construction 4.0 adaptation strategies to mitigate application risks were suggested for both researchers and practitioners.
