Abstract :Acute bilateral renal cortical necrosis is a rare condition most commonly occuring as a complication of pregnancy. It is characterised by oligoanuria and severe acute renal failure requiring dialysis if the patient is not to die. This paper describes three cases of renal cortical necrosis and briefly reviews the literature.
