Abstract :The role of cerebellum in the regulation of somatic activity is well established. Experimental studies in recent years on a variety of mammals have revealed direct and indirect reciprocal connections between the hypothalamus and the cerebellum. The hypothalamic projections to the cerebellum arise primarily from cells in the lateral posterior and dorsal hypothalamic area. Cerebellar projections to the hypothalamus arise from neurons of all cerebellar nuclei and pass through the superior cerebellar peduncle and enter the hypothalamus.
