Our Surgical Results for Femoral Neck Fractures: A Demographic and Retrospective Cohort Study.

Abstract :Objective: Proximal Femur Fractures due to trauma in the form of falls have become a common health problem among advanced age groups worldwide.Proximal Femur Fractures occur in various anatomical regions due to low- and high-energy causes related to falls, traffic accidents, metastatic tumors and osteoporosis. Method: We compared the WOMAC results in addition to post-operative ROMs between three groups covering healthy hip joints with no apparent pathology and operated hip joints in 34 cases. Results: A total of 34 patients consisting of 19 males and 15 females were included in the study. The mean age was 62.91±5.13 years in the proximal femur fracture was due to a traffic accident in 3 patients and a fall in 31 patients. Osteoporosis was present in 21 patients and osteopenia in 6 patients, with no bone pathology in 4 patients. Mild postoperative limitations were present in abduction and adduction on the operated joint side but there was no significant difference insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p> 0.05); between the other ROM values of the operated side and the healthy side Conclusion: The quality of life increased in the post-operative period according to the surgical method used, the selection of the appropriate materials for the reconstructive surgery performed, and early diagnosis and treatment.
