Abstract :global governance” and “Turkey-as- a-middle power” have conspicuously been lacking in Turkish foreign policy literature and thus are in need of further elaboration, both conceptually and empirically. To partially fill this gap, this special issue also contains an article that seeks to locate Turkey in the current liberal global governance as a “rising middle power” occupying a middle ground between the traditional middle powers and the non-traditional or emerging middle powers. The said study then assesses Turkey’s preferences, capabilities and strategies in the changing network of global governance. A second article serves a similar purpose by providing an evaluation of Turkey’s global governance strategy in the context of its 2015 G20 Presidency
