Abstract :In this article, I will try to define and explain the course of events thatled to the realization of the BTC pipeline. What is important about this projectis that the political objectives and resolve of the United States and Turkey werethe main driving force behind this project. By explaining the stages of theproject, I intend to bring more definitive substance to my main hypotheses:political factors are dominant in the region and at least as important as economicsin determining which pipeline is to be built. Finally, I would like to delveupon the implications of the BTC main oil pipeline to the economies of thecountries and hydrocarbon resource market of the Caspian Basin and beyond
Keywords : Caspian Energy, Pipelines in Eurasia, Energy Security and Diplomacy, Turkey`s Energy Policy, Export Routes
