Abstract :The current accession negotiations with the European Union EU would seem to provide a unique opportunity to solve the Cyprus problem. Yet the EU does not seem to be able or willing to develop a coherent strategy with respect to Cyprus. What will happen, what are the opportunities and dangers inherent in the present situation? What are the alternatives for a viable solution?
