Abstract :The average yearly precipitation of Konya Plain is 326 mm and its cultivable area is about 2.659.890 ha. It consists of 3.5 % of Turkey square measure. In this area, as an average 1.653.000 ha fields are cultivated, 1.008.306 ha fields are fallowed in every year. Its already irrigated area is 374.260 ha although its irrigational area existence is 1.900.000 ha. The 176.950 ha of the irrigated fields of Konya Plain is belong to government irrigation, 197.310 ha is by the people. The total water potential of Konya Plains is 5.84 billion m3 year-1 and of this 3.82 billion m3 year-1 is usable position. Here, irrigation water deficit is about 8.2 billion m3 year-1. The 0.92 billion m3 underground water, 2.4 billion m3 surface water and 0.5 billion m3 irrigational water of Göksu River consist of irrigational 3.82 billion m3 water.
