Determination of Fungal Flora of Some Sugar Beet Seeds Sown in Turkey

Abstract :Seed is the most important generative production material. Seed born fungal pathogens of sugar beet cause high damages on yield and seed quality on plants. In this study, were determined seed borne fungal organisms on some sugar beet seeds sown in Turkey. In the result of this research nine different fungi were determined as Alternaria alter-nata, Cercospora beticola, Fusarium oxysporum, Phoma betae, Rhizoctonia solani, Periconiella angusiana, Curvula-ria sp., Periconia sp., Aspergillus sp. on the seeds of Aura, Evita, Sonja, Fiona, KWS-Tr and Türk Şeker sugar beet varieties and Alternaria alternata was detected with the highest ratio 10-100%.
