Abstract :People digressed from natural environment fastly in recent years and started to live at artificial environment that was formed by them. They show their aspiration to nature by trying to protect it. Environmental problems like rapid urbanization, industrialization, population increase reducing green areas that disturb the people. As a result of this, people search places being with nature. Arboreta, contribute to urban open green space system as a place enable both recreational works and allow education and research possibilities. In this study, definition of arboreta, historical progress and specialities, planning and design criteria was studied and at these studies direction, research and observation were made about the arboretum which will be suggest to establish on Selçuk University Campus Area. In synthesis and evaluation phase, ecological, social and cultural dates related with area fixed and put forward to existing condition and assistance of these data site election area evaluation criteria were fixed. Open and cov-ered areas and plants were determined with scale of 1/500 proposal plan was made.
