Investigation of the Last Irrigation Timing for Grain Corn under Konya Basin Conditions

Abstract :In this study performing at Konya basin conditions, the aim was to determine the last irrigation time for grain maize production. For this purpose, the effects of five different irrigation-ending times [at milking stage insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S1);; 6 days after S1 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S2);; 12 days after S1 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S3);; 18 days after S1insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S4); ; and 24 days after S1 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S5);] on grain yield were researched under field conditions. By comparison to first irrigation-ending treatment of S1, 80 mm more irrigation water was applied to the latest terminated treatment of S5. The results of the study showed that, effect of different irrigation-ending times on grain yield and gross income was found not statistically significant. However, maximum grain yield and gross income were obtained from S5 treatment.
