The Comparison of Irrigation Organizations in Point of Water Management in Konya Plain

Abstract :This study was carried out to compare irrigation organization stated in Konya Plain By this aim, three water user organiza-tion, two irrigation cooperative and two municipality operated organization were chosen. These organization was evaluated for the aspect of the factors affected irrigation management performance, like staff employment, plant pattern, irrigation fees and irrigation ratio. The results show that plant patern has changed with years and there isn’t enough technical staff in organ-izations, water fees are collected for per da. In addition, results showed that irrigated area rates are ranged 37-75%, 41-100% and 51-70% in water user organization, irrigation cooperatives and municipality operated organizations, respectively. These results showed that there is not difference between irrigation organization with respect to irrigated area. It is determined that measuring water at source and delivery points is made regularly by water user organization, while being not considered by other organizations.
