Determination of Important Agronomical Characters in Popcorn Cultivars

Abstract :This research has been conducted to determine the highest yielding grain pop corn varieties under Karaman eco-logical conditions and to examine the yield and quality components of pop corn varieties in 2003. In this research which arranged in a “ Randomized Complete Block” with four replications, 12 pop corn varieties were used. Flowering period 69.25 day insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Bahar P-621); – 73.00 day insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Karaman Populasyon);, plant height 194.65 cm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(NS-620); – 240.20 cm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Koç Kompozit);, first ear height 73.35 cm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(NS-620); – 109.40 cm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Koç Kompozit);, ear lenght 17.17 cm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Mr Kelly); - 20.27 cm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Bahar P – 621); , ear diameter 33.79 mm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(NS-620); – 40.51 mm insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Bahar P-618);, grain number per ear 527 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Mr Kelly); – 732.75 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Nermin Cin);, grain weight per ear 81.75 g insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Mr Kelly); – 146.759 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Bahar P-618); . As a result, it was recommend that “Koç Kompozit”, “Ant Cin – 98”, “NS-620”, “ZP 611 K”, “85 Ant 2503 x 72.11”, “85 Ant 2503 x Sarı T.” and “Bahar P-618” popcorn varieties can be grown for high yield under Central Anatolia ecological conditions.
