Abstract :By the economical and environmental effects, tourism is a global activity, providing the service sector. Generally, tourism activities for fun and rest are defined as Mass Tourism. In recent years some alternative forms of tourism has been appeared and called “Alternative Tourism”. Ecotourism as an alternative tourizm, appeared in 1980’s and became one of the most developing subsector of tourism industry. Ecotourizm is an activity which is especially proper to natural and cultural areas. While, it provides the knowledge and experiences of the tourists’ because of its informative form, also improves the socioeco-nomic well-being of the local community and has economical benefits to conserve the natural and cultural areas. Karapınar province and its vicinity has a great potential with its wilderness natural properties and cultural structure. In this study, it is aimed to use these areas in tourism sector and produce economical benefits by an ecotourism planning which has no detorior effect to natural and cultural areas. The convenience of Karapınar province and its vicinity for some ecotour-ism activities were searched with Geographical Information Systems. As a result, suitable areas for applicable selected activities were determined for Karapınar province and its vicinity and some applications were offered.
