Different Soil Tillage and Leaf Removal Applications Effects on Berry Metabolite Accumulation and Water Stress of cv. Syrah

Abstract :Different soil tillages and leaf removal treatments effects on water stress and berry metabolite accumulation was studied in this research at the conditions of Tekirdağ province. Three different soil tillage treatments were used; conservative soil tillage insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CST);, conservative soil tillage + traditional soil tillage insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CST+TST); and traditional soil tillage insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(TST);. Three different leaf removal applications were used; control insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ML+SL); treatment insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(treatments which main leaf and secondary leaves left together on vine);, ML insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(treatments which main leaves left on the vine);, SL insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(treatments which secondary leaves left on vine);. In research; climatological data and phenophases, leaf water potentials, grape must characteristics [SSC, total acidity, pH, sugar concentration, sugar amount per berry, total insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(-L); malic acid, total anthocyanin, total polyphenol index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(TPI);], yield per vine, and berry maturation indexes insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(pH2*SSC and sugar/titratable acidity); were determined. According to results; with CST+TST treatment, leaf water potential and yield were increased while SSC, sugar concentration and total anthocyanins decreased. With CST treatment leaf water potentials and yield were decreased while SSC, total acidity, sugar concentration, total anthocyanins and TPI increased. With ML leaf removal treatment; yield was decreased while total acidity, TPI and malic acid increased. With SL treatment; SSC, sugar concentration and total anthocyanin were increased while must pH decreased. In conclusion, for cv. Syrah red wine cultivar, CST soil tillage treatment and control insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ML+SL); leaf removal treatment were recommended in Tekirdag province conditions.
