Structural Characteristics and Marketing Structure of Pesticide Dealers in Konya Province

Abstract :The analysis on the structural characteristics of pesticide dealers, the problems on supply and marketing of pesticides, and the marketing structure of pesticides used in wheat production were made in this study. The survey results obtained from pesticide dealers and the information obtained from Konya Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Province Offices were used in the study. It was stated that 51.51% of pesticide dealers was sole proprietorship, 24.24% of them was company, and 24.24% of them was unions/cooperatives. 63.64% of the authorized people in pesticide dealers was graduated from Agricultural Faculty. It was observed that the share of pesticide dealers thinking that the prescription system used in pesticides’ selling was good or very good insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(30.30%); was low. Private pesticide dealers group had the highest market share with 85.77% in the market. The Central Union of Beet Growers Cooperatives with 7.23%, the Central Union of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives with 4.21%, the Chambers of Agriculture with 1.61% and Konya Ministry Province and District Offices with 1.18% followed this group.
