Determination of The Yield, Quality and Losses of Mechanized Harvesting of Sugar Beet (Beta vulgaris saccharifera L.) Harvested Different Dates

Abstract :This research was conducted to determine the effects of different harvesting times on yield, yield compo-nents and mechanical harvesting losses in which the roots of sugar beet during 2007, 2008 growing sea-son in Ilgın-Konya ecological conditions. Sugar beets were harvested on 5 different dates insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(15th Septem-ber, 1st October, 15th October, 1st November 15th November);. Experiments were set up in “Randomized Complete Block Design” with 4 replications Root yield, leaf yield, sugar content, sugar yield and mechanized harvesting loss were established and analyzed. According to the means, the highest root yield on 15th November insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(80.88 t ha-1);, leaf yield on 1st October insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(30.75 t ha-1);, sugar content on 15th October insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(18.78 %);, sugar yield on 15th November insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(14.01 t ha-1); and loss of mechanized harvesting was found on 1st October insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(17.95 %);. Regarding obtained results, the data showed that the highest root and sugar yield with the lowest mecha-nized harvesting loss was on 15th November.
