Identification of Parents and Hybrids with Inheritance of Some Yield Components of Bread Wheat Using Diallel Methods in Middle Anatolia Conditions

Abstract :In this study, the crosses by using diallel method between six bread wheat cultivars were made in 2000-2001 grow-ing season in Konya in order to determine suitable bread wheat, parents and crosses and to obtain heritability and yield and yield components for Middle Anatolia condition. The crosses and parents were grown in 2001-2002 growing sea-son. Grain yield per plant, thousand kernel weight, heading days were measured, weighted and observed in all parents and their hybrid progenies. On each observed characters, general and specific combining ability, heterosis and heterobeltiosis, broad and narrow sense heritability were calculated by using diallel method. Correlations between characteristics were obtained. Both additive and non additive gene effects were estimated for grain yield per plant non additive gene effects and low narrow sense heritability degrees were determinated for thousand kernel weight and heading dura-tion Gerek-79 and Bolal-2973 were obtained suitable parents for grain yield per plant and early maturity. Bezostaya-1 x Dağdaş-94 observed suitable hybrid for the same characters. The mean values for heterosis and heterobeltiosis were found to be positive in grain yield per plant.
