Abstract :This research was carried out to determine the best fitting model to the growth curve of live weight during fattening period in Akkaraman and Anatolian Merino male lambs applied at the open and closed sheepfold. For this purpose, 7 Anatolian Merino and 6 Akkaraman lambs in open sheepfold and 7 Anatolian Merino and 8 Akkaraman lambs in closed sheepfold were fattened at from 2.5 months of age and 20 kg of live weights to 4.5 months of age. The growth curves parameters, determination coefficients insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(R2);, mean square predicted errors insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(MSE); and correlation between observed live weight and residuals insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(RESC); were determined for Linear Model, Cubic Model and Quadratic Model by obtained fort-nightly live weights of fattening lambs during the end of fattening period. R2 values of live weight were determined as 99.2±0.13%, 99.3±0.18% and 99.9±0.04% in open sheepfold and 99.9±0.07%, 99.7±0.09% and 99.6±0.13% in closed sheepfold for Akkaraman, 99.2±0.25%, 97.7±0.59% and 99.9±0.07% in open sheepfold and 99.7±0.14%, 99.7±0.13% and 98.3±0.43% in closed sheepfold for Anatolian Merino for Linear Model, Quadratic Model and Cubic Model, re-spectively. In addition to this, all the models can be said enough to identify the growth of the 2 month fattening period in both sheep breeds and sheepfold type. Keywords : Akkaraman, Anadolu merinosu, Büyüme eğrisi, Matematik model
