Situation of Foundry Industry in Konya Region

Abstract :In this study, it was aimed to determine conditions of foundry industry in Konya region. At the end of the study the following statistical data were found. The capacity of 58.33% of the foundry industry was 500 t/year. 55.56% of the foundry industry has a closed area of 500-1000 m2. 47.22% of them has employed from 10 to 20 employees. Up to 48% of them have employed no technician or engineer. More than 90% of them used foundry sand method for casting pro-cess and 15% of the total casting belongs to various machinery parts. 13.89% of them have their own R&D unit in them. 91.67% of them plan to expand their business.
