Abstract :This study was carried out to determine the grain yield and water-use efficiency of maize deficit irrigated with drip irriga-tion under Konya plain conditions and different irrigation programs was applied such as 100 % insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S1);, 75% insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S2); and 50% insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S3); replenishment of water depleted. Irrigation was applied when approximately 50-55% of the available soil moisture was consumed in the root zone at the control treatments insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(S1);. In the experiment, corn was irrigated 13 and 12 times in 2005 and 2006, respectively, and a total of 839 mm to 793 mm or irrigation water were applied to S1 irrigation treatment, in which water use was determined as 923 mm and 859 mm in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Grain yield obtained from the S1 treat-ment, 13477 kg/ha in the first year and 13295 kg/ha in the second year of the experiment. Yield obtained from the S2 treat-ment, which received 25% less water as compared with S1, was not significantly different from the full irrigation treatment. Beyond the S2 level, deficit water application resulted in significant yield reduction by affecting both seed mass and kernels per ear. Significant second power relationships were found between grain yield and seasonal irrigation, and grain yield and water use, respectively. In the first and second year of the experiment, the yield response factor insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ky); was determined as 0.93 and 1.08, respectively. Irrigation water use efficiency insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(IWUE); and water use efficiency insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(WUE); were found to be between 1.45–2.0 kg/m3 and 1.34 - 1.83 kg/m3, respectively for the treatments studied.
