Abstract :Soil degradation is defined as physical, chemical and biological deterioration of soil, is likely to be the most im-portant problem for human nutritional demand in future. Increasing world population and reduction in agricultural land are serious thread for future. Therefore, in order to satisfy nutritional demands, it is important to protect soil, the major nutrition source, from factors that hinder its fertility. The aim of this review was to define soil degradation to provide information about it is status in the world and Turkey, and to make recommendation for possible measures against this problem.
