Determination of The Convenient Sowing Date for Spring Rapeseed Cultivars in Konya Conditions

Abstract :This research was carried out to determine the most suitable sowing time and the effects of different sowing dates on the yield and yield components of some spring rapeseed varieties under Konya conditions between 2004-2005. Three spring rapeseed varieties insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Fantasio, Jura and Helios); and four different sowing dates insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(March 20, April 5, April 20 and May 5); were tested in the experiment. The experimental design was arranged as Split Plots in Randomized Complete Blocks with three replications. In this research plant height, brunch number in plant, pod number in plant, pod length, seed number in pod, 1000 seed weight, seed yield, oil ratio and oil yield were determined. According to the results, all the characters were significantly affected by the sowing times. It was found that there were significant differences between rapeseed cultivars all of investigated characters except number of branches per plant, pod number per plant and pod length were significant. According to the two-year results, seed yield and yield components are significantly affected by the sowing time being delayed. The highest seed yield and crude oil yield were determinated in April 5 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2279.0 kg ha-1 and 936.0 kg ha-1, respectively);. April 20 and May 5 sowing times reduced the seed yield about 13 % and 25%, and crude oil yield about 17 % and 30 %, respectively as compared with April 5 sowing time. Among the cultivars, Fantasio has shown better performance both seed yield insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(2148.0 kg ha-1); and crude oil yield insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(836.0 kg ha-1);.
