Abstract :This study was carried out under irrigated conditions to determine the effect of different seeding rates and row spacings on the best seeding density on the yield and yield components of Atay-85 and Bezostaja-1 wheat varieties at Çumra in 1988-1989. The varieties were drilled at four different seeding rates (400,500,600 and 700 seed/m2) and three row spacings (10,15 and 20 cm). In this study, grain yield (kg/da), fertile spike number per m2, 1000 kernel weight, har- vest endex, flag leaf lenght and width, plant height, grain number of spike and fertile tiller number per plant were investigated. At the and of the two year investigation, the highest grain yield 456.6 kg/da was obtained when 600 seeds per m2 were used. The best row spacing was 15 cm obtaining 420.2 kg/da grain yield. Atay-85 variety gave more yield (441.8 kg/da) than the Bezostaja-1 (379.8 kg/da).Keywords : ekemeklik bugday, verim, tohum
