The Determination of Constructional Conditions and Problems of The Dairy and Beef Cattle Housing in Konya

Abstract :This research was carried out to determine constructional problems of dairy and beef cattle establishment in Konya region. The study was conducted 33 establishment consisting of 14 beef and 19 dairy cattle tying barns selected in Konya region. The housing floor was same level with the natural ground or lower than that, in 55% of the barns. Foundation depths of the barns were generally insufficient, and widht of foundation was about 45-50 cm. The Stone materials had been used to build the foundation walls. In 88% of the barns, the construction materials of the walls were made of stones and adobes. According to the result of investigation, physical construction of buildings is generally insufficient, in addition the most of them have planing mistakes. Environmental conditions are inadequate for cattles, especially natural ventilation outlet areas are less for all the housing.
