The Importance and State of Edible Grain Legumes in Karaman Province

Abstract :In this research, the importance and state of edible grain legumes (dry bean, chickpea, lentil) which cultivated in Karaman was Investigated. The sowing area of chickpea, dry bean and lentil have been 17000 hectare, 3000 hectare and 640 hectare respectively. The most production (16800 tons) has been obtained from chickpea. The least production (600 tons) has been obtained from lentil. Dry bean production has been 5600 tons. The lacking and wrong knowledge of farmers on plant growing was determined with survey. For more than production and the higher quality, the farmers were suggested explanatory in formations.
