Abstract :Sugar beet varieties; They can be classified differently according to their production methods, ploidy levels, seed structure of the variety and production purposes. Here we will classify the varieties according to their production methods. These are generally divided into two: 1. Synthetic varieties, 2. Hybrid varieties. Although production methods have nothing to do with seed structure, synthetic varieties are generally multigerm and hybrid varieties are genetic monogerm. In Turkey, around 98% genetic monogerm, 2% technical monogerm and a very small amount of multigerm seeds are planted.
