A Research on the Yield and Yield Components of Winter Seeded Barley and Oat Cultivars in Konya Ecological Conditions

Abstract :Three barley (Tokak-157/37. Karatay-94 and Kıral-97) and five Oat varieties (Apak, Yeşilköy-330, Yeşilköy-1779, Checota and Population) were used in this research in 1995-96 and 1996-97 winter growing seasons. Heading duration, plant height, leight of upper internod, spike/panicle lenght, grain number per spike/pantele, fertile spike/pantele number m-2. 1000 grain weight and grain yield were investigated. The correlations were investigated between grain yield and yield components. The differences between the varieties with respect to garin yield and yield components were statictically significant. As the mean of two years the highest grain yield (523.64 kg.da-1) was obtained from Kıral-97 barley variety and Yeşilköy 1779 oat variety (326.88 kg.da 1). The negative correlations were found between grain yield and heading duration and the pasitive correlations were found between grain yield and grain number per spike/panicle and fertile spike/panicle number m2. The different correlations were found between grain yield and other yield components according to the varieties.
