Abstract :The heridity and hybrid vigor of some agronomic traits in 4x4 diallel reciprocal cross population of three varieties and one local population in durum wheat was investigated. In this research plant height, spike length, spikelet number/ spike, kernels / spike, kernel weight / spike, fertile tillers /plant and grain yteld / plant were measured. The additive gen actions were found to be significant for all the traits studied except for kernel weight / spike and grain yield. General combining ability effects were found to be high and significant for short plant height, kernel / spike, fertile tillers / plant and grain yield / plant for Çakmak-79 and spike length for local po-pulation and short plant height, spikelet number / spike, kernels / spike, kernel weight / spike for Akbaşak 073/44 and spikelet / spike for Karabaşak.
