Relationships Between Blood Potassium Types and Live Weight and Dirty Fleece Yield in Dağlıç Sheep

Abstract :This study was conducted on 43 Dağlıç sheep with different ages in Bandırma Sheep Research Institute. Genotype frequencies were found as 0.40 and 0.60 for low potassium (LK) and high potassium type (HK), respectively. KH gene frequency was determined as 0.63. According to least squares analyses, the relationships between potassium types and body weight in shearing and greasy fleece weight were not statistically significant. However, HK animals had a better for body weight, whereas LK animals had greater greasy fleece weight than HK ones.
